During the month of May, several EPS members had the opportunity to utilize their skills and participate in the annual “Christmas in May” event held on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 in Chaska, MN. EPS employees Jaren Schmieg, Adam Peterson, and Jeremy Schurmann joined forces to support the local non-profit organization which enlists local volunteers and coordinates one-day work projects to repair and rehabilitate the homes of Chaska residents who have neither the financial nor physical ability to maintain their home. The program utilizes skilled and unskilled volunteers to do all the work which can include painting, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning, landscaping and of course, electrical work.
Jaren, Adam, and Jeremy jumped at the opportunity and devoted several hours of labor during their off weekend to help wire outlets and install a lift chair for an elderly gentleman from Chaska. “It really felt great to give back to the community” Adam shared. Together, the EPS trio provided some great service to the local community and exemplified the EPS values of service before self and demonstrating empathy for others.
